Biologist - Southern California

The biologist will perform or trained on nesting bird surveys, construction monitoring, task management, writing sections of biological technical reports and drafting monitoring reports.
What You Will Do
Plan and execute field assignments for San Diego and southern California-based work. Conduct surveys and monitoring pursuant to the relevant regulations, codes and/or industry standards. Document field findings in monitoring logs, reports or email communications. Communicate with ICF project managers and senior biologists. Must be able to travel to field sites in other counties, including but not limited to Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
What You Must Have
A BA/BS in Biology, Ecology, or related discipline
1+ years of environmental/consulting field experience
Technical expertise in Southern California and the ability to learn local San Diego geography and resources
Basic to advanced botanical or wildlife knowledge
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to respond timely to deployment requests (i.e., sometimes next day)
Ability to travel to field sites in Southern California and occasionally assist with surveys in rugged, undeveloped terrain
Ability and experience conducting work in active construction sites and communicating with operators
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
What We’d Like You to Have
Basic documentation/data management experience
Geographic Information System (GIS) software skills
Intermediate or advanced nest surveying, active nest monitoring, and buffer establishment.
