AWS Cloud Applications Architect - Remote

This opportunity requires ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance, per Federal Contract requirement.
ICF is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Applications Architect for opportunities in support of initiatives related to digital transformation, portfolio modernization, and delivery of enterprise strategies for a federal client. This role is a technology leadership position requiring a background and operational experience with cloud services, cloud advisory, adoption, migration patterns, architectural engagements, major products, services and frameworks, and industry standards. Position includes architectural artifact and transitional roadmap development, system and cloud topology design, analyses of alternatives and prototyping, and team mentoring in a dynamic client and business partner facing atmosphere.
5+ years’ experience performing as an AWS Architect utilizing various AWS services and applying a strong understanding to bring client systems into the cloud
Technologies expertise to include: API Gateway, Lambda, S3, various serverless technologies, VPC networking, traffic load balancing, routing, web and mobile applications, and other features as required for a portfolio of robust cloud solutions
1+ year(s) experience in Terraform, Python & Linux/Unix Shell Scripting
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance per Federal contract requirement
Engages the client organization, manages key stakeholders, and fosters relationships to develop a deep and thorough understanding of the enterprise
Creates a vision, strategy, and produces a roadmap to lead cloud adoption modernization efforts by applying a proven track record of assessments, target technology and IT landscape specifications, technical asset configuration and multi-phased cloud migration deliveries
Implements and manages the cloud journey while ensuring adherence organizational compliance, best practices, and industry standards
Serves as the primary technological point of contact, responsible for the overarching technical oversight, architecture and construction efforts
Oversees cloud provider and vendor interactions and the effectuation of products, services, platform(s) and other solutions along the roadmap while ensuring that technical milestones are following the program schedule
Develops effective governance, leads technical resources, mitigates risk, monitors quality, security, etc., and ensures success in the execution of these areas
Participates in, and leads technology evaluations, proofs of concept, client demonstrations and various solutioning and educational presentations to assert vetting and client buy-in
Coordinates and collaborates on developing requirements and mission outcomes with executive leadership, business stakeholders, various technical teams, contractors, etc.
Serves as the technical strategy champion, resolving program issues, answering questions, and prescribing adoption of proposed solutions for leadership, staff, and contractors
Authors required documentation, briefings, SLAs and technical standards for the architectural runway
Works closely, leads and coordinates with other architects and additional members of the technical leadership and all other program teams
Supports project teams’ delivery (code/build/release) lifecycles
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
BS in information systems or computer science
10+ years of overall technology leadership experience with participation in major modernization and integration projects while designing and architecting large scale applications
Excellent oral communications, bringing thought, vision, and strategy leadership with
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certification
Experience with Angular or NodeJS
Strong experience building and deploying secured Docker containers
Strong background with AWS RDS and PostGreSQL
Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise
Extensive knowledge of Application Architecture, Network, and Release Processes
Knowledge on DevSecOps, infrastructure as a code and CI/CD processes
Knowledge of the Agile methodologies, including test-driven development
Experience in all areas of the Software Development Lifecycle, Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, and Human-Centered Design principles and practices
