Speaking of growth, our Air Quality team is currently seeking a creative and collaborative Air Quality and Climate Change Specialist to be based in Northern or Southern California (San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Los Angeles, or Irvine). This is a great opportunity to work alongside a strong team of air quality professionals and develop your skills. You will also gain experience working on large and complex infrastructure projects for transportation, energy, water, planning and land use development.
As an Air Quality and Climate Change Specialist, you will be supporting air quality and greenhouse gas emissions inventory development, health risk assessments, environmental impact analysis, climate action planning and report preparation for land use development, infrastructure, and roadway projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in technical writing and data analysis, and an interest in growing these skills in a collaborative team environment.
What You Will Do
Prepare the air quality and greenhouse gas analyses and technical reports for complex and controversial projects that are subject to CEQA and NEPA.
Solve quantitative and qualitative problems and develop innovative measures to avoid project-level impacts to air quality or climate change.
Research and interpret air quality and climate change legislation, rules, and legal decisions.
Work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with ICF staff and clients.
Meet deadlines, multitask, and produce quality work.
What You Must Have
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, atmospheric science/meteorology, or related science field.
1 to 3 years of experience working on air quality and GHG impact analyses pursuant to CEQA/NEPA.
Foundational understanding of policy and regulatory context surrounding air quality and climate change.
Familiarity with emissions models (e.g., EMFAC, CT-EMFAC, CalEEMod, OFFROAD, MOVES, AERMOD)
Excellent quantitative, modeling, written, and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
