Accounts Assistant - London
An exciting opportunity has risen to join our Finance team based out of the London office as an Accounts Assistant. This position will report to the UK Financial Accountant.
The ideal candidate must have basic double entry skills, and either studying or intending to study an accounting course (AAT or ACCA). Additionally, they must have an excellent standard of written and spoken English along with MS Office skills (Outlook, Word and Excel). They will also need to be confident, organised, accurate and calm under pressure/deadlines. The successful candidate will need to be able to plan, prioritise, communicate and manage workload effectively under the guidance of the team.

Working with a close and well-established team of finance professionals, you will be given sufficient training and support to take responsibility for assisting with a broad range of duties that include:
Ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions
Preparation and posting of monthly general journals, including those for fixed assets, payroll etc.
Preparation and posting prepayments and accruals
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and petty cash reconciliations and intercompany balances
Preparing monthly cash flow forecast and working closely with Treasury to ensure entities are adequately funded
Working knowledge and experience of dealing with multiple foreign exchange currencies
Working closely with project controllers to ensure project returns are received in a timely manner and entered onto the ERP system
Responsible for intercompany transactions including recording of invoices, internal recharges, settlement and funding requirements
Preparing, reconciling and filing UK VAT returns for multiple UK entities
Maintaining fixed assets register and posting monthly additions, disposals and depreciation
Preparing monthly UK payroll and liaising with external payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely processing of staff pay and deductions
Assisting with monthly P&L and Balance sheet analytical reviews as and when required
Assisting with the statutory audit of all UK companies
Ad-hoc projects administrative and financial tasks
Skills and work experience
Basic double entry skills
IT proficient - the applicant should have intermediate MS skills including Excel (V-Lookups and Pivot tables), Word, Outlook and Teams
Studying AAT or ACCA
Proven written and communication skills – the applicant should have the ability to communicate persuasively across a wide range of professional groups.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
Excellent verbal, written, analytical and presentation skills
Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
High level of ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision
Ability to organise and prioritise tasks under tight deadlines
