Accountant (On Call)
ICF is currently seeking an Accountant (ON CALL/PART TIME) to work approximately 10-15 hours a month to provide financial information to Center management and volunteer Parent Board by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.
General Job Duties:
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Summarizes current financial status by collecting information and prepares monthly balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
Prepares drafts and finalizes annual budget documents.
Substantiates monthly financial transactions by auditing documents; prepares documents for Center’s annual audit.
Recommends financial actions to Center management and Parent Board by analyzing accounting options.
Guides and coaches bookkeeper by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Answers accounting procedure questions from bookkeeper, center administrators or parent board members by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
Reconciles monthly financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Maintains and updates own professional and technical knowledge.
Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting preferred
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience
Expert in intuit QuickBooks accounting software
Lives locally and able to provide in-person coaching and support to bookkeeper
Detail and deadline-oriented
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Adheres to SFAS rules
