ICF Next seeks an Account Director, Consumer Public Relations & Social with a preference for location in Minneapolis, Chicago or New York City, but may be open for the right candidate. At the center of this role is a passion for client service and account management and for bringing to life ideas and campaigns that earn media coverage and drive social conversation.

In this role, you will:
Provide strategic counsel to clients across multiple projects
Build strong, trusted client relationships through an understanding of their business and challenges
Lead account teams to develop and execute campaigns while delegating workload and overseeing quality of ideas, execution and client service
Manage and mentor junior team members, guiding career growth and coaching to further elevate strategies and deliver flawless execution
Work closely with Account and relevant discipline leaders (Creative, Strategy, Analytics, Social Media, Corporate Affairs, Project Management) on day-to-day work delivery and growth opportunities, including process improvement, issues management, and other enhancements that drive the business, and the agency forward
Be an active and collaborative member of the clients’ integrated agency team, providing strategic counsel and building upon ideas
Show tenacious problem-solving skills and a curiosity for what’s possible from a creative and earned standpoint always thinking of new ways to break through while meeting client’s marketing challenges
Demonstrate an ability to identify and evaluate news and pop culture trends that impact our clients’ business
Demonstrate a strong understanding of social and influencer strategies and how to bring earned, social and influencer strategies together to achieve client objectives
Grow current account business and develop new business for the agency
Be a cultural contributor
Adapt to ever-changing workloads and priorities within a changing media and consumer landscape
In this role, you’ll bring:
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism, public relations or communications and 8+ years of experience in multi-faceted social media, influencer and public relations
Experience leading PR strategy for consumer-facing brands
An understanding of the earned landscape and experience developing social and influencer strategies that can propel earned programs and/or drive earned conversation
An interest in bridging paid, earned and owned strategies by connecting dots and listening for opportunities
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Leadership instincts and the ability to identify and elevate great work from junior team members
Conflict management skills
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team and collaborate regularly with team members at all levels
Ability to oversee and manage third-party partners, from talent to event vendors
Ability to travel as required
