Strategic Business Development Manager

The ideal candidate will have previous experience selling services and solutions in the Cloud and DevOps space, a strong proficiency in the public Cloud products and solutions (AWS and Azure), and an understanding of the value the technology brings to client’s businesses. This role will develop engagement and sales strategies across the organization helping to refine the go-to-market strategy: define value-based offerings, develop co-innovation partnerships, and grow pipeline with new leads.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify and qualify new leads and opportunities in the DevOps, Cloud, and Managed Services space

  • Drive the initial interaction between qualified sales opportunities and ICF Next team members

  • Help develop, coordinate, and prepare responses for RFIs, RFPs and custom proposals for potential clients

  • Negotiate and drive to fully execute agreements for new work sold

  • Grow and manage pipeline

  • Proactively engage in the continuous improvement to hone the sales and proposal development process- tracking market trends and proposing new ideas to address market opportunities

  • Collaborate across the organization including engineering, legal, finance, marketing and other to ensure that objectives are met

  • Support team by collecting, developing, curating collateral to help the selling process

  • Work closely with industry Partners, such as AWS, Azure, etc. to identify new opportunities and potential collaboration

  • Define KPIs and measurement of successful sales strategy

  • Develop authentic and trusted relationships with partner team members, leveraging these relationships to identify new opportunities.

  • Collaborate with marketing team members to propose new ways to connect with clients

  • Promote ICF Next presence at partner events; helping to drive attendance

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 5-8 years of relevant direct sales experience

  • Strong business development skills with a proven track record of executing deals greater than $1M

  • Ability to translate client needs into distinctive solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and commitment to high-quality work

  • Ability to foster relationships with professionals at various levels within the company

  • Creativity and high energy with a willingness to identify and try new strategies and tactics as they emerge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to gain support and establish working relationships with program/project managers, technical leads, SMEs, peers, and staff

  • A professional demeanor and positive attitude, even while working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Certification in a public Cloud strongly preferred: AWS Business Professional Accreditation, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, etc.

  • Team leadership skills, ability to manage by influence

  • Strong meeting facilitation skills

  • Strong verbal and editing/writing skills

  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy

  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients, partners and vendors

  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS, and Excel
