Entry Level Software App Developer

ICF is looking for a motivated application developer with experience supporting the full software development life cycle.  You will work as part of a collaborative development team that is responsible for operations and maintenance and development, modernization and enhancement activities for 11 existing applications that support our Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) client. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all staff are currently teleworking. Once staff can return to work in-person the position will be onsite at our Rockville, MD offices, with some teleworking optional.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and study complex system requirements
• Perform software development tasks using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and design artifacts as part of the software development life cycle
• Assist with development of quality assurance test scripts
• Perform unit tests, integration tests, regression tests, and system tests on developed code
• Perform remedial development to resolve software bugs and errors
• Review and enhance existing applications to improve performance and add functionality
• Support software configuration management in a Continuous Integration Environment
• Work as part of a collaborative team to complete projects assignments

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or information technology
• 1+ years of professional experience that includes working in a DevOps environment
• Demonstrated experience working with Jenkins and Gitlab
• Knowledge of and development experience using Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and JSON in Linux/Unix and Windows environments
• Experience with frontend frameworks React.js/Redux, Vue.js, or Angular.js
• Strong experience in relational database design and Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with Play framework
• Knowledge/Experience of MVC pattern
• Knowledge of AWS services - Lambda and S3 services preferred
• Knowledge of 508 section compliance
