Senior Web Applications Engineer (Remote)
ICF is seeking a Senior Web Applications Engineer to support digital experience and enterprise web for public sector clients. We are looking for a full stack engineer whose true passion is the front end. Getting the solution right for users drives you. And you can't help but point out and address all the ways the Agile team can improve in order to deliver high quality code efficiently. We'll put you in the position to make a difference for both our clients and your colleagues. You'll model the right ways to work and support the team as they adopt those good habits.
In this role, you will:
You will roll up your sleeves and code, supporting multiple projects alongside a team of other engineers.
You will also provide leadership and coaching to reinforce Agile development practices, coding standards, replicable architectures, build processes, DevOps principles, and best practices.
Deliver web application components and front end interfaces that are fully compliant with standards for design, accessibility, security, and performance.
Consult on cloud infrastructure to support web application performance.
Create accurate, clear technical design specifications.
Model and coach our engineers – and other members of our Agile teams – on the behaviors and best practices that are essential for sustainable Agile development. (e.g., the people and process side of DevOps, including applying coding standards, version control, test automation, and proactive monitoring and troubleshooting).
Ensure our teams develop and package solutions in an easily consumable and repeatable way for customers and internal technical teams.
Ensure teams only create new code when it's the most efficient path forward.
Capture and share best practice knowledge across ICF Next and ICF more broadly.
Recommend new technologies and methodologies for meeting business needs, resolving problems, and grabbing opportunities.
Learn rapidly and stay current with new technologies.
For this role, you will have:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field.
Experienced web developer with 5+ years of experience delivering resilient, well-tested code.
Familiar with .NET, PHP, Python, Ruby, and Java.
Experience with entire SDLC: planning, coding, testing, mitigation, deployment.
Experience establishing and following source control workflows and performing code reviews.
Proficient at writing unit tests, including tests for serverless applications.
Analysis: You're good at identifying problems, finding the root cause, and using data to solve the problems.
Communication: You're good at conveying complex information in a way that less technical people can understand. You support their decision making by clearly laying out the details that matter most.
Exercising Judgment and Decision Making: You look before you leap. You understand and weigh the impacts of your decisions and strive to do the right thing for the circumstances–balancing short term and long-term consequences.
Technical and Professional Knowledge: You know your stuff. And you have a sense of what you don't know, too. You demonstrate due-diligence and strive to fill your knowledge gap, either through learning or through collaborating with colleagues.
Building Effective Relationships: You build bridges and work collaboratively, knowing you can accomplish more as part of a strong team.
Client Focus: You deliver value to internal and external clients. You listen to their needs and address them promptly. You gain trusted advisor status with clients and help them keep track of the bigger picture.
