Technical Specialist - Virtual Events

Title: Virtual Event Technical Specialist

Location: Brussels, London or Birmingham

About the team:

We are expanding our services, and to support this growth, we are looking for a Virtual event technical specialist to join our Policy Implementation and Programmes (PIP) line of business.  PIP provides programme and network support, technical assistance, and mutual (peer-based) learning and training services to European Union (EU) institutions, particularly the European Commission Directorate-Generals and executive agencies. Our portfolio of projects covers a range of policy areas, including employment, labour market, social inclusion and protection, education and training, and migration and asylum.

About the role:

The role will involve supporting preparation, delivery, and follow-up of a wide range of virtual and hybrid events using varied virtual platforms. It means working with a wide range of internal teams and external clients to deliver outstanding virtual events for anywhere between 10 and 250 people. You main responsiblities will include:

  • Prepare, deliver and follow-up a variety of virtual events, webinars and/or hybrid meetings for clients
  • Support internal teams with production-based work, establishing tools, audio-visual set-up, testing and rehearsals.

  • Lead on technical support for virtual events, providing technical oversight, managing and facilitating engagement using interactive tools

What you'll need:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in communications, cross media, virtual event management or a related discipline.

  • Experience of delivering virtual events, webinars and/or hybrid meetings of different sizes and complexity

  • Proven experience of using leading video conferencing software such as MS Teams, CISCO Webex, Zoom, GoToMeeting/Webinar.

  • Experience of managing virtual break-out groups and use of interactive collaboration tools e.g. virtual whiteboards

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, including time management, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven high degree of determination to meet customers’ needs

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including interacting with multi-national and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
