C&I Energy Efficiency Account Manager – Alberta

Energy Efficiency Account Manager

Commercial and Industrial ​ Programs Location: Calgary and Edmonton, AB

To support ICF’s growing energy efficiency program delivery, ICF is seeking Account Managers with experience in commercial and industrial energy efficiency and/or solar PV to assist with outreach and promotion of a new program in AB. Successful applicants will assist trade allies and customers in the identification of projects, the selling of the project internally within an industrial/commercial company and encourage timely and complete applications to the program. Account Managers will build industry relationships and assist in the project development should any issues arise. This position requires ~50% time to be spent in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Account Manager Lead, the Account Manager will develop partnerships with trade allies and industry associations to enable their participation in the program
  • Build industry relationships with electrical, HVAC, solar, and other relevant trade allies to identify opportunities for program participation
  • Meet program targets for participation and customer satisfaction
  • Implement recruitment, marketing, and sales strategies for the program
  • Track rebate application status and provide regular reports to Account Manager Lead on program activity
  • Using effective sales skills to assist customers in the understanding of energy saving, emissions reductions and comfort benefits of new energy efficient products
  • Conduct webinars and attend industry events to engage with trade allies and customers to promote the program
  • Liaise with program applicants for a successful and complete applications
  • Subject matter expertise in energy efficient equipment and processes
  • Site visits to program applicants
  • Engineering calculations for energy consuming equipment and program cost effectiveness
  • Provide training, technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies, including emerging technologies and best practices to companies participating in sponsored programs
  • Provide ongoing utility client support as needed. Support will include program reporting, meeting attendance and other client communication as needed
  • Maintain and follow Health & Safety protocols

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering is strongly preferred, however demonstratable experience and a diploma is sufficient.
  • Eligible for a professional engineer designation
  • 2+ years of working knowledge with lighting, HVAC, solar, and other commercial or industrial energy efficient equipment is a required
  • 2+ years energy efficiency experience
  • Valid and clean driving license 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of combined heat and power, HVAC, fans, building envelope, heat recovery, building automation systems, lighting and lighting controls, solar PV (and other forms of renewable energy), etc.;
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Outgoing, engaging individual who can build industry relationships to promote the programs
  • Experience with measurement and verification
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
  • Time management skills to handle multiple priorities and flexibility to work limited overtime as needed
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Access)
