ICF is seeking an experienced UX Design Generalist for opportunities based in our Arlington, VA office in support of initiatives related to digital transformation, modernization and enterprise strategy delivery.
Our UX Generalist will join a team that builds products that directly meet the business needs of our customers. You will work with business owners to develop and conduct user research, facilitate collaborative ideation, develop personas, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and style guides, and you will work with the implementation team to ensure that the delivered product meets the agreed-upon design.
ICF works in an agile framework, so this role is instrumental in making sure that the product team and client are aligned on successful product outcomes, and have a strong shared understanding and common expectations of the product to be delivered, while maintaining high quality deliverables that meet end user needs.
The UX Design Generalist will lead research, ideation, and interaction design for digital transformation programs from initial discovery and ideation through implementation. You will operate on multiple levels, working directly with customers and their product team. You will be directly responsible for:
Facilitating the elicitation of, and evaluation of, business requirements from stakeholders
Planning and facilitating generative user research and usability testing
Designing wireframes and/or prototypes based on business requirements, to articulate screen and system behaviors
Ensuring interaction designs incorporate best practices and conform to Section 508 requirements
Presenting designs to customers, stakeholders, and the product team, and design iteration
Formally presenting artifacts and recommendations to executive-level decision-makers and stakeholders
Collaborating as part of an implementation team, acting on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure adherence to design and to provide detailed guidance for developers
2+ years of experience facilitating workshops and collaborative ideation sessions
2+ years of experience in developing designs using standard interaction design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, LucidChart, Miro, etc.
2+ years of presenting designs to clients and key stakeholders, and collaborate in a team environment throughout design and implementation
2+ years of working within an Agile delivery environment using a variety of methodologies (including Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe)
2+ year of helping stakeholders understand integral steps of the design process
