Job Description:

ICF is seeking a Junior/Mid-level Statistical Programmer to provide statistical programming and analytical support on a range of projects including public health, housing, military and veteran’s issues, energy, transportation, environment, and social and economic policy. 

Successful candidates should have experience in data management including processing, coding and reviewing data, and producing written technical documentation. Additionally, they should have some experience conducting univariate, bivariate (e.g., Chi-squared, T-test, etc.) and multivariate analysis (e.g., logistic regression), and calculating survey weights. 

Key Responsibilities:

Programming:

  • Import, clean, and transform data.
  • Develop complex conditional logic.
  • Use data steps and PROC SQL to combine and aggregate data.
  • Modify and write SAS macros.
  • Produce reports and deliverable files for clients.
  • Help prepare written internal and external technical documentation that describes the analytic and data manipulation steps used for a study.

Statistics and Analytics:

  • Perform survey sampling techniques to support data collection activities, including web, landline and cell telephone, and mail/address-based survey samples.
  • Collaborate with our statisticians in the calculation of weights for survey data.
  • Conduct statistical analysis on data that uses complex survey designs and generation of reports.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Completed Master’s degree program in Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or other relevant statistical or social science field.
  • At least 1 year of applied and demonstrable statistical, analytical, or data management experience (either in an academic or professional setting).
  • Familiarity with statistical programming or scripting languages is required.
  • Strong knowledge of SAS (SAS certifications are a plus!).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products or other document editing software.
  • Strong interest in survey research.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in graduate program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills as it pertains to data quality and programming.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external clients at all levels to obtain or clarify project requirements.
  • Ability to write and modify SAS macros to automate and speed up programming.
  • Demonstrated ability perform complex data transformations (aggregating, transposing, and merging).
  • Fluency in data merging techniques using SAS data steps and PROC SQL.
