Public Health Application Programmer
Our public health group is growing and we’re currently seeking a Application Programmer to work in Atlanta, GA, sitting onsite with CDC.
Conduct system assessments to ensure structure, code, and data “best practices” are being adhered to for a monitoring and abstraction program focused on birth defects and for associated data processing tools and for surveillance of congenital heart defects. Develop recommendations to address any concerns with system performance and stability, and database organization. Implement approved system and database modifications using a highly transparent and iterative process requesting and incorporating continuous feedback from team leadership. Develop, document, and implement a comprehensive quality control/quality assurance process. Provide technical direction and oversight to other programmers to ensure proper implementation and appropriate time-on-task.
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor degree in an information technology-related field.
Experience: 5 years’ experience in public health informatics; 5 years’ experience in application development; experience with full software lifecycle development processes. Proficiency (at least 7 years’ experience) with the following: VB.NET, Access, object oriented programming. Familiarity (at least 3 years’ experience) with the following: VBA, SQL server, ASP.NET, T-SQL.
