ICF is seeking experienced Emergency Management, Public Assistance personnel to support our Disaster Management team in response to COVID-19. We’re looking for seasoned, FEMA PA professionals right now! These roles have a lot of flexibility for the right candidate. ICF is seeking experienced Emergency Management personnel to support the Disaster Management division in response to COVID-19.
The ICF Disaster Management division works with government agencies and communities to design and implement policies and programs to promote increased resilience to disasters through economic and infrastructure recovery after disaster strikes. Our functional expertise is in program management and operations, planning and preparedness, technical assistance and training, strategic communications and outreach, compliance and monitoring, and performance measurement and evaluation. Clients include states and localities administering HUD and FEMA funded disaster recovery programs. We often work in close collaboration with ICF experts across the firm on related issues such as energy efficiency and green building, infrastructure, financial literacy, and workforce development. All our work is done in a professional, collegial, and intellectual environment that allows individuals pursue their passions and generate results.
You will be responsible for ensuring that individuals, families and local governments affected by disasters have access to the full range of FEMA programs in a timely manner and that the best possible level of service is provided to applicants in the administration of these programs. Additional responsibilities include developing partnerships with the States, voluntary organizations, the private sector and other Federal agencies that are delivering similar kinds of assistance to the same groups of individuals.
As we move forward to provide support, some of the first roles we’ll be working on will be the Program Delivery Manager (PDMG), the positio reports to the Public Assistance Task Force Lead (PATFL) and is a qualified project officer. A PDMG is knowledgeable of the PA Program and develops PWs. Typically, PDMGs are resources for the applicant and responsible for assisting them with the development of projects and cost estimates. The PDMG often works with technical specialists who have a defined area of expertise, such as compliance, insurance, and cost estimating in the development of specific projects.
- Knowledgeable in PA Program
- Develop Project Worksheets
- Assist applicants with the development of projects and cost estimates
- Work with project/technical expert when dealing with specialized project
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in FEMA PA
- 2+ years in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
- Bachelor degree preferred for some management roles
- Excellent customer service skills to facilitate public assistance to applicants
- Meeting with applicants throughout all phases of the application process
- Using FEMA’s delivery model to track applicants’ projects
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in participating in informational meetings and gatherings to the general public and communicating program eligibility requirements to larger audiences
