Senior Proposal Manager/Capture Coach Team Lead

As a Senior Proposal Manager/Capture Coach Team Lead you will be responsible for managing a team responsible for creative and critical analysis (from capture through proposal production), coaching through the capture process, managing the proposal process (from pre-RFP through development of the compliance matrix, all color teams and production), hands-on leadership of the proposal effort (e.g., facilitating meetings, writing/editing sections, reviewing drafts before they go out for review), monitoring development of the business proposal, and anything else required to create an A+ submission.

Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility area a must. Need the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coach the capture team in following the capture process to develop strategy, solution and position ICF for the win
  • Manage a team of Proposal Managers/Capture Coaches
  • Manage specific capture and proposal efforts
  • Coach the capture team in following the capture process to develop strategy, solution and position ICF for the win
  • Facilitate solution and win strategy development, message development, SWOT analysis, competitive analysis and other activities related to capture
  • Help manage development and implementation of communications plan and individual call plans with clearly defined goals and messages
  • Participate in and facilitate pre-proposal capture activities; including facilitating team meetings, developing pre-RFP blue team and drafts
  • Manage the proposal process from pre-RFP activities through final production and close out processes; oversee proposal coordinator support to the proposal
  • Support the capture team with identifying key staffing/teaming and interfacing with potential subs/teaming partners
  • Provide advice and assist in the entire process of creating proposals and qualification packages, from initiation of ideas through document completion
  • Analyze RFP and develop compliance documents, outline, format, and final product working in concert with Technical Lead
  • Manage to (and help develop) the schedule for all color reviews and final production
  • Serve various functions, as required, throughout the proposal process (compliance matrix developer, theme meeting facilitator, section author, draft reviewer, red team reviewer, subcontractor interface, formatting manager, production supervisor)
  • Develop proposal sections, as appropriate for non-technical areas, including management, past performance and staffing
  • Monitor development of the business/pricing proposal to ensure it is on track and in sync with the technical proposal
  • Identify potential for graphic input
  • Manage preparation for interviews/oral presentation

What you’ll need….

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience managing large, complex proposals ($25 million+) including pre-solicitation and capture activities
  • Experience supervising direct reports
  • Experience developing winning solutions to complex problems
  • Creativity in conceptual development of compelling graphics
  • Firsthand experience with proposal management, preparation, and production
  • Experience coordinating the various parts of the business/pricing proposal
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and Sharepoint

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience supporting capture
  • Experience managing various types of proposals (federal, state and local, commercial, and international), ideally both technical and business volumes a plus)
  • Experience/familiarity with price-to-win
  • Some understanding of pricing (including price-to-win) and business volume requirements a plus
  • Experience managing large proposal efforts ($25 million+)
