Sr. Technical Writer - Child Welfare

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design various review and technical assistance tools to assist federal staff in implementing effective child welfare information systems compliance reviews
  • Design program assessment processes and program assessment indicators for comprehensive child welfare information system (CCWIS) compliance
  • Design various self-assessment tools for states and tribes to evaluate the different modules of their CCWIS (eligibility, adoption, case management, intake etc.) to determine readiness for a federal CCWIS compliance review
  • Edit, proof-read and format various technical documents

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social science or communication field 
  • Experience composing and editing written matter relating to instructions, policies, procedures for use in external or internal publications
  • Experience writing high-quality, analytical reports outlining findings and recommendations in clear language
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

Preferred Skills: 

  • Master’s Degree in a social science field or communication field
  • Knowledge of child welfare programs and state/tribal SACWIS/CCWIS systems
  • Experience working on state administered social programs such as TANF, SNAP or Medicaid
