Computer Architect

The Computer Architect will provide Army Research Lab (ARL) with support and technical expertise with hardware/software platform design, setup, testing and debugging. The architect will be key in providing High Performance computing support to mission critical Army tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist developing complex hardware and software architectures
  • Creation of workflows using hardware description languages (Verilog and VHDL)
  • Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform set-up, testing and debugging to include all workflows.
  • Assist with digital design of computer hardware and software platforms

Required Professional Skills:

  • Proficiency with Verilog or VHDL hardware description languages and associated workflows for synthesis.
  • Experience with digital design and computer architectures
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado and FPGA development

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Current DOD clearance
  • BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
  • A total of 2-5 years relevant IT experience.
  • Mature, self-motivated, adaptable and able to work well in a group environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to develop and execute detailed written plans for complex software and hardware implementations.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with Cadence/Synopsis workflows a plus
