Project Manager-Educational Website Management

ICF is hiring a Project Manager will provide on-site management and supervision of contractor personnel and project management of assigned tasks and projects. The location for this position  will be in DC.

Scope of the work:

The client is looking to continue this positive momentum it has seen with a new children's website and build on it to not only educate more children and parents, but also to reach educators through strategic outreach. This effort will involve a continued online presence and an enhanced physical presence to connect with audiences and stakeholders in person.In the face of a declining customer base for sales, it is imperative for the client to continue an educational outreach to build lasting relationships with new audiences and to strengthen the bonds with current audiences such as tour attendees and stakeholders like interagency government partners,

recipient organizations, and local and national educators and educational associations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Guiding the web team in its work, providing hands-on project management of projects and tasks related to the website and lesson plan development.
  • Development and regular updating of project plans, writing of meeting agendas, minutes and progress reports, management of contractor personnel, troubleshooting of issues, and regular communication with staff about issues and project status.
  • Guides the team to take initiative to develop recommendations and strategies for improving web communications.
  • No more than 20% of the Project Manager’s time will be allocated to the above tasks, with 80% being devoted to education content creation.
  • The Project Manager will draft, edit and prepare educational content such as lesson plans, teacher’s guides and e-mail newsletters that 1) conform to national standards for relevant subject areas and/or the Common Core State Standards Initiative, 2) apply classroom management principles, and 3) are grade-level appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience managing a web communications team
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative suite, HTML editors, and other web publishing tools
  • Excellent project management, team leadership, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to take initiative to identify and solve problems
  • Demonstrated experience with education and understanding of K-12 curriculum design and teaching principles
  • Bachelor’s Degree: in Education or Management

Preferred Skills:

  • Preferred, but not required: PMP training or certification
  • Master's in Marketing or MBA
