Job Description

ICF is adding staff to its energy efficiency team in the Corvallis, Oregon area to support a wide range of energy efficiency programs. Our clients include utilities, recognizable Fortune 500 global corporations, as well as a variety of industry, and Government organizations. We are seeking an Account Managers to manage and complete the implementation of programs that will deliver and expand our offerings.  An Account Manager works on multiple projects and interacts with all levels of staff applies their academic and past work experience knowledge to a wide variety of projects. Account Mangers work directly with clients, as well as internal and external experts in their field of expertise. This position assists in training and developing junior staff. The position is home-based in the Corvallis, Albany, or Eugene areas of Oregon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team ensuring that the implementation of energy efficiency projects are successfully executed in specific commercial, institutional, and government markets in the Corvallis area or Oregon.
  • Recruiting program participants (customers and trade allies), account management, developing and implementing sales strategies, preparing and delivering persuasive presentations, relationship building activities.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to companies participating in utility-sponsored programs by creating written documents and compelling presentations that convey key analytic findings for distribution to internal/external clients.
  • Work with our engineering team to understand technical specifications, engineering calculations and cost estimates for energy efficiency projects; be able to communicate those to customers effectively.
  • Provide an array of trade ally support and assistance services
  • Conduct surveys and walkthroughs of energy efficiency projects to verify equipment.
  • Resolve issues effectively with projects/clients.
  • Plan and arrange schedules and budgets for projects.
  • Coordinate project team activities and delegates work when appropriate.
  • Draft concise communications to customers as needed for projects.
  • Deliver complete and accurate projects into the program to garner energy savings.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Energy Efficiency utility programs 
  • Entry to 3 years of energy efficiency or equivalent trade experience
  • Interested in working with the commercial, industrial, and government markets, various customer facilities, commercial building systems, and with energy efficient and renewable technologies
  • Interest in learning the existing network of distributors, contractors and construction market players
  • Interest and willingness to learn energy efficiency technologies such as lighting, HVAC, and other energy efficient equipment
  • Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Certified Energy Managers
  • Experience performing energy audits and energy savings calculations
  • Exceptional people and sales skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Presentation skills, including experience with presenting concepts to clients (both internal and external).
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and outstanding level of professionalism

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding analytical, writing, and communication skills and excellent interpersonal and self-motivation skills are required
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
  • Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude
