Public Health Preparedness Manager

ICF is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Public Health Preparedness team in the National Capital Region. This position is responsible for providing Project management and subject matter expertise of client programs.  

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management

  • Manage the ICF project(s)
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Review and approve monthly invoices
  • Develop and coordinate review of monthly progress reports
  • Archive project documentation

    Project-specific

  • Provide expert guidance on emergency public health and healthcare planning, policy development, state and local coordination, and technical assistance delivery
  • Develop plans, guidance and policy documents
  • Develop and facilitate meetings, trainings, webinars, workshops, or exercises

 Basic Qualifications: 

  • Masters in Public Health or related field or Bachelor’s with 5 additional years of relevant public health/ healthcare emergency preparedness planning experience
  • 5+ years project management experience
  • 6+ years of practical public health or healthcare emergency preparedness and response experience (e.g., mass patient care and public health surge, mass prophylaxis and immunization, epidemiology and surveillance, environmental health and surety, mass fatality, emergency operations)
  • 5+ years of experience in developing public health or emergency management related plans, policy, or technical assistance
  • Experience developing and evaluating program measures and program performance factors
  • 1+ year of experience working collaboratively with other local and state public health jurisdictions

Preferred Skills:

  • Able to coordinate a large number of projects simultaneously under pressure with very tight deadlines
  • Knowledge federal and state public health and healthcare preparedness programs
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into tangible and functional products
  • Team and consensus building skills
  • History of interfacing with senior and elected officials   
  • Experience with Ebola and other Highly Infectious Diseases

Professional Experience:

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
