ICF’s Transportation Practice is growing and we are looking for a Transportation Principal.  Our practice specializes in addressing complex transportation planning, policy, and program issues. We focus on integrated approaches that support sustainable transportation decisions, addressing mobility, safety, environmental, social, and economic effects of transportation. Our work includes strategic planning, research, policy analysis, outreach, training, and evaluation for federal, state, and local governments, including the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the Transportation Research Board (TRB), state transportation and environmental agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, and local governments.

As a Transportation Principal, you'll be responsible for leading business development and project execution related to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in our Washington, DC office. You'll work directly with clients and senior staff, as well as internal and external experts in their field of expertise. You will also train, develop and direct the work of mid-level and junior staff.                
What you’ll need…

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, systems , or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation systems management and operations, Intelligent Transportation Systems, traffic management, planning for operations, asset management
  • Experience conducting transportation projects for US DOT, TRB, and/or other public sector transportation agencies
  • Government consulting experience
  • Program and project management including knowledge and adherence to PMBOK guidelines
