Four Tips for Acing Your ICF Interview — Straight From the Recruiting Team

Glassdoor, one of the largest job sites, named ICF to its top 100 “Best Places to Interview” in the U.S. and UK. They based the ranking on anonymous candidate feedback, combining companies’ overall interview experience rating, interview difficulty rating, and interview length.

If you’re looking to ace your ICF interview, then you’re in the right place. Our recruiting team shares their tips for preparing and presenting during your interview.

  1. Know what the greater team does. “We appreciate when candidates come to the discussion having reviewed white papers, blog posts, or other material on the ICF website,” said T Clark. And, by exploring the team’s work, candidates can better understand the company’s perspectives and priorities. 
  2. Use LinkedIn to your advantage. Before interviewing, Maria Schwartz recommends looking at the interviewing team’s LinkedIn profiles to gain insight into who you’re meeting with, their areas of expertise, and their experience. Since you might be interviewing with a team that works on a client site, spend some time researching information about that client, too. 
  3. Reach out to someone you know at ICF. “Connecting with ICFers is a great way to get a feel for our culture and the environment in which you’ll be working,” said T Clark. Tap into your network or follow us on social media to get a glimpse into the employee experience at ICF. 
  4. Ask questions. If you are unsure about any step of the interview process, just ask your recruiter! They’re here to advise you throughout the process. “Whether you’re unsure of what to wear, or what our benefits mean for you, our team is always happy to answer candidates’ questions,” says Paula Bach.
