Stacy Surla

User Experience Lead

Stacy Surla has more than 14 years of experience delivering client‐focused user experience services with a concentration on e-government and nonprofit digital projects. She also has a consulting background in information technologies (IT), research, and project evaluation that spans 30 years.

Ms. Surla's areas of expertise include designing for the user experience, web strategy, knowledge management (KM), content strategy, information architecture (IA), and multichannel service design. She has led teams on projects for numerous U.S. federal clients, including the Departments of Veterans Affairs (VA), Defense (DoD), and Justice (DOJ); the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA); U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID); and the White House.

Ms. Surla has an M.S. in Literature from the American University and is an adjunct professor at Kent State University in the IA/KM department. She was a twice-elected officer on the board of the Information Architecture Institute and a program chair for the IA Summit, and she serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Information Architecture.
