Since 2006, Ms. Smith has worked for ICF as executive coach and consultant on numerous human capital projects for federal government agencies. She has a extensive federal management experience in executive education, leadership coaching, and in a broad array of human capital management areas including staffing, recruitment, and performance management.
Ms. Smith’s ICF coaching work includes leading the design and delivery of coach training for career coaches and as a technical expert on a coach certification program for Army leaders. They were trained to become 360 feedback coaches and develop coaching strategies in various setting. She is an action learning team coach and works with leadership teams to identify challenges, plan strategy, and take action to get results. As a coach in Senior Executive Service (SES) Candidate Development Programs, Ms. Smith skillfully leads candidates to develop and implement their personal development plans, and gain leadership experience in targeted Executive Core Qualifications, leading to successful SES certification. She blends her board knowledge of leadership development with coaching and works in partnership with ICF teams to integrate coaching with leadership program designs that reinforce skills and application of program learning.
Ms. Smith holds a Leadership Coaching Certificate from Georgetown University, and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is a certified experienced user of the MHS EQi 2.0 360, the Center for Creative Leadership’s suite of 360 assessment tools, the Denison 360 assessment, and the OPM Leadership 360, and is qualified to administer the MBTI, DiSC, and several communications and interpersonal relationship assessment instruments. She holds an Action Learning Coach certificate from the World Institute of Action Learning.
